NLP Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an NLP Engineer with 2 to 5 years of experience to build text understanding and language AI features that power Creuto products. You will work on problems ranging from text classification and entity extraction to semantic search and document intelligence using modern transformer-based approaches.

In This Role, You Will

• Design and build NLP models and pipelines for text classification, NER, summarisation, and semantic understanding.
• Fine-tune and adapt pre-trained language models from Hugging Face for domain-specific tasks.
• Build semantic search and document retrieval systems using dense embeddings and vector databases.
• Integrate LLM APIs into NLP pipelines for tasks that benefit from generative capabilities.
• Build evaluation datasets and benchmarks to measure NLP feature quality in production.
• Optimise NLP models for inference speed and cost without unacceptable quality degradation.
• Collaborate with product teams to translate language understanding requirements into well-defined NLP tasks.
• Monitor NLP feature performance in production and maintain quality over time.

You Might Thrive in This Role If You

• Have 2 to 5 years of NLP engineering experience with production systems.
• Are proficient in Python and experienced with Hugging Face Transformers, spaCy, or similar libraries.
• Have fine-tuned BERT, RoBERTa, or similar models for classification or extraction tasks.
• Understand the strengths and limitations of both classical NLP and modern LLM approaches.
• Can build robust evaluation pipelines and think rigorously about model quality.

Bonus If You Have

Experience building multilingual NLP systems for Indian languages.
Knowledge of information extraction, knowledge graphs, or document intelligence.
Familiarity with speech-to-text or text-to-speech integration.
Experience with LLM-based NLP workflows including RAG and function calling.
